Hot Takes

- There were more muscles flexed in Week 2 than in the beach volleyball scene in Top Gun. Five teams cleared 130 points, including an epic match between Show me your TDs and Burning Sensations where both went over. BS and TDs locked up in a dual that showed that TD's is playing for keeps this year, as long as the definiton of playing for keeps still involves starting anyone on the Lions or former uga players. One other note on this matchup, Burning Sensations put up this robust score even while getting a zero from Kenny Golliday.

- Just like we all thought, Dom Toretto was the high score of the week. What makes this even more astounding is Leonard Fournette and his 25 points enjoyed this one from the bench.

-Little Spoon is here to tell us that not all 0-2 teams are created equal. You don't often lose when your team scores 120 points, much less finish as the seventh highest scoring team with that point total. This, however, is what happened to Spoon this week. Spoon now gets to see what is engraved on his heart with the inury to his most expensive player, Saquon Barkley. Spoon still has a good roster, as long as the Chiefs keep playing, but his season looks much more challenging now.

- Another hard luck loser this week is Bob Bruton, but not because of any injury. Yes, you oculd say that Michael Thomas's injury is significant, and it is. Bob went toe to toe with Drive by Tuckers in week 2, and was actually done in by his roster depth. Bob is in a spot that we have all been in at some point, where you have a bunch of guys that are similar, and you have to try and figure out which ones to roll with each week. There is nothing wrong with this strategy, and Bob will probably have a succesful season and end up in the playoffs. But, when you go with this strategy, there are inevitably going to be weeks where the guys you pick score fewer than the guys on the bench, and that happened this week.

- Congratulations to Antonio Brown Poop for getting on the board with his first win of the season. Yes, it was against Southern Comfort, who somehow had two HEALTHY players score zero points, but a W is a W, and like a wise man once said "Winning, it's better than losing".

-Looking ahead, the marquee matchup of Week 3 was tainted a bit by Christian McCaffery's injury, and this may have been reflected in the coaches poll. The Sensations are the 2nd highest scoring team in the league, but without CMC it becomes even more difficult to take down the two time defending champ.

- That said, I am now looking forward to the matchup between Fort Dix and Show me your TDs. There hasn't been much winning tradition established by both of these franchises, and both look set to have breakout seasons. Dix's situation is probably a little more urgent, as he wants to avoid a 1-2 start, but these are both teams that have the look of a contender. Also, can Dom continue his steady rise from the bottom of the coaches poll?

That's all for this week. Terrible luck to all of you in Week 3.
